Following massive back-to-back victories in Hospitality and Tech, Eastern Visayas State University strikes gold yet again—this time dominating the business and entrepreneurship arena. Student startup DailyGreen has been crowned Grand Champion at the INNOV8 Leyte Start-Up Business Challenge 2026, held at the Leyte Convention Complex on October 8.
We don’t just pitch ideas; we build champion ventures. Besting top student innovators from all over Eastern Visayas, the DailyGreen team secured a ₱30,000 cash prize and earned the absolute right to represent the entire Region 8 at the upcoming National PCCI Start-Up Business Competition.
The winning formula? VeggieBalls; an innovative, preservative-free food alternative made from locally sourced vegetables. The team didn’t just present a product; they presented a masterclass in combining community impact, health, and serious entrepreneurial vision.
The powerhouse squad behind this victory is led by Raphael Vic Martinez, alongside Nikka Marie Esperas, Jhon Paul Dacuital, Andrei Godwin Rosal, and Kate Vianci Lagunay, heavily backed by the strategic guidance of their mentor, Prof. Marvin Nilo M. de Veyra. The team easily tore through the rigorous screening rounds, secured their spot in the Top 10, and completely owned the final pitch stage.
Congratulations, DailyGreen! You’ve proven that the standard of excellence in Region 8 resides right here. From EVSU to the national stage, bring the heat!
