The Intellectual Property Technology Business Management (IPTBM) of the Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) spearheaded a two-day Intellectual Property (IP) Valuation Institutional Re-echo Training on September 22–23, 2026, at the ORIES Training Room.
The event brought together 19 faculty participants from various schools and campuses to deepen their understanding of IP as an asset and its potential as a market and commercial opportunity. The participants also engaged in activities that allowed them to apply the concepts discussed, which culminated in the presentation of IP Valuation reports at the end of the training.
Serving as resource speaker was Jeremiah Edison C. Nicart, faculty member of the University of the Philippines Tacloban and former IPTBM Technical Staff. Prof. Nicart shared insights on IP valuation and its role in identifying the economic and commercial potential of university-generated intellectual assets. Hands-on workshop sessions were facilitated by the IPTBM Lead Dr. Pearl Aphrodite B. Carnice.
As one of the IPTBM’s deliverables and mandates, the activity underscores the university’s continuing efforts to strengthen its institutional capacity in intellectual property management, valuation, innovation, and technology commercialization.
