The Electronics Engineering (ECE) Department of the Eastern Visayas State University together with the Rotary Club of Kankabato and the Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines, Inc. – Eastern Visayas Chapter (IECEP-EVC) launches an extension project named “LOKAL WIFI” at Judge Antonio R. Montilla Sr. Elementary School (JARMSES). The project LOKAL WIFI aims to make online learning accessible during this time of pandemic by providing a free communication link between the teachers and the pupils within the local community. Without connecting to the internet, Lokal WIFI will allow the exchange of messages including pictures and videos using an Android application.
This project began on July 2, 2020 through a testing stage which will help determine the WIFI access point technical specification needed for its final installation. The project is to be completed before classes start in public schools.
