EVSU Inks Letter of Intent as Co-founder to Establish the ASEAN School of Business Network

The Eastern Visayas State University recently signed a Letter of Intent to establish the ASEAN School of Business Network with 3 other Universities in the Asean Region, namely, Universitas Islam Indonesia, Indonesia as Founding and Lead University together with 2 other Universities, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, Malaysia and Rangsit University, Thailand as Cofounders.

The Letter of Intent Signing was the culmination of a 3-day Co-Founders Meeting held from November 30- December 1, 2023 at the Amaranta Prambanan Hotel in the historic and culturally vibrant city of Yogyakarta in Central Java, Indonesia.

The overarching goal of the collaboration is to strengthen and develop long term mutual benefits in the fields of business education and research and facilitate the exchange of knowledge through various academic activities which will include but not limited to faculty members, students and staff exchange, dual or double degree programs, joint research collaboration, lecture series programs, international conferences, seminars, trainings and other cultural projects.

This foreign educational mission is one of the significant results of the different international academic and research consortia and networks which the Eastern Visayas State University had joined in the past 2 years after the establishment of the Office of Internationalization and External Affairs. The Internationalization Program is one of the centerpiece programs of the presidency of Dr. De Paz.

The historic formal signing of the Memorandum of Agreement is scheduled in the first quarter of 2024 during the first international research conference to be organized by the Network to be held in Yogyakarta, Central Java, Indonesia.
