Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) prepared its OJT students from the Main and External Campuses for their internships through the Work Ethics & Safe Space Act Seminar: Internship Pre-Deployment Orientation on September 2 at the ORDeX Studio Room.

The seminar focused on workplace professionalism, safety, respect, and ethical conduct. Students were also oriented on CMO 104 s. 2017, the Anti-Sexual Harassment Act, the Safe Spaces Act, and proper work ethics.

In his message, Dr. Benedicto T. Militante Jr., Vice President for Students, Internationalization and External Affairs, reminded students that OJT is more than a graduation requirement. He encouraged them to be disciplined, respectful, professional, and willing to learn as they represent both themselves and EVSU in their workplaces.

Leading the discussions, covers professional conduct, workplace safety, ethical responsibility, and relevant policies, with discussions led by Dr. Salvador O. Bonifacio, CPA, Mr. Aiken Jude A. Lopez, and Prof. Melody M. Gariando. The activity also features messages from Dr. Benedicto T. Militante Jr. and Dr. Pearl Aphrodite B. Carnice, with Prof. Arvin R. Pepe closing the program, as EVSU seeks to equip students with the knowledge and values needed to become responsible, respectful, and ethical professionals.

The activity, themed “From Classroom to Workplace: Preparing Future Professionals for Real-World Challenges,” aimed to help students become responsible and ethical professionals as they transition from the classroom to the workplace.

This activity support the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) particularly SDG 04: Quality Education; SDG 05: Gender Equality and SDG 08: Decent Work and Economic Growth.
