President Dennis de Paz as Plenary Speaker at 1st UP-SUC Summit

Highlighting the university’s RDE and Internationalization collaborations with other universities, EVSU president Dr. Dennis C. de Paz delivers his plenary speech for the 1st UP-SUC Summit today, September 15 at Dusit Thani Residence, Davao City.

President de Paz noted major collaborations with partner-universities in the region and beyond. He shared the dynamic exchange of knowledge and expertise in projects such as the Eastern Visayas Food Innovation Center (EVFIC) and Intelligent Green Box (IGB).

EVSU takes the lead in initiating activities that foster industry, energy, and emerging technology Research and Development for the region and the country,” discussing the role of Eastern Visayas Consortium for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (EVCIEERD) in the region where the university serves as the home of the said consortium.

CHED Chair J. Prospero E. de Vera III served as the keynote speaker. In attendance are PASUC and BatSU President Tirso A. Ronquillo and UP System President Angelo A. Jimenez who delivered their messages during the opening program.

Plenary speakers also include Philippine Normal University president Bert J. Tuga, Southern Luzon State University president Doracie B. Zoleta-Nantes and Mindanao State University – Tawi-Tawi chancellor Mary Joyce Z. Guinto-Sali. The UP-Pagtutulay, Pagtutuloy: The 1st UP-SUC Summit brought leaders and prime movers of State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) to inspire inter-SUC engagements in transdisciplinary academic, research, and public service programs.
