6th International STEAM+ Research Congress with the theme “Leveraging a STEAM-Centered Smart Campus Toward Building a Globally-Linked Regional Innovation Ecosystem”

The Office of the Research, Development, and Extension Services of Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU-ORDExS) successfully concluded its three-day 6th International STEAM+ Research Congress with the theme “Leveraging a STEAM-Centered Smart Campus Toward Building a Globally-Linked Regional Innovation Ecosystem” on September 21, 2023, via Zoom Teleconferencing.

During the closing program, the best paper for each of the six strands are recognized, which are:

  1. Science, Nutrition & Dietetics, and Health Sciences Strand: 𝐒𝐲𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐲 𝐏𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐲𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐥-𝐍𝐢𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐦𝐬 𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡-𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠, presented by Clarisse Jade Estrada (MSU) and co-authored by Hamdi Muhyuddin Barra (MSU), Johnny Jim Ouano (MSU), Sunny John Lood (MSU), Soo Kien Chen (UPM), & Florencio Recoleto Jr. (MSU).

  6. Social Sciences and Humanities and Related Fields Strand: 𝐀𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐲 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐁𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬’ 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐌 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐤, authored and presented by Praksis Miranda (PNU).

In addition, the 6th International STEAM+ Research Congress’ partner institutions, namely: the Philippine-American Academy of Science and Engineering (PAASE), Asia Professional Education Network (APEN), Eastern Visayas Consortium for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development (EVCIEERD), and Department of Science and Technology- Philippine Council for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DOST-PCIEERD), were given a certificate of appreciation for their valuable support which has contributed to the success of this year’s edition of the iSTEAM+ research congress.

Details regarding the 7th International STEAM+ Research Congress are also revealed during the closing program, with the theme “STEAM+ for Sustainable Futures: Bridging Research, Innovation, and Extension,” scheduled on 24-26 September 2024 at Summit Hotel, Tacloban City, Philippines.

The next year’s iSTEAM+ research congress will put emphasis on the following six conference topics: 1.) Science for Sustainability; 2.) Technology and Innovation; 3.) Engineering for Sustainable Solutions; 4.) Agri-Fisheries, Food Security, Nutrition and Dietetics; 5.) Mathematics, and; 6.) Social Sciences.

In her closing message, the EVSU Vice President for Research & Development, and Extension Services, Dr. Analyn C. Españo, relayed her message of gratitude to everyone who took part in this years’ iSTEAM+ Research Congress – from the keynote and plenary speakers, paper presenters and participants, to the EVSU administrators, officials and faculty members, and staff behind each committee.

“We hope to immortalize this conference because this is not all about here and now, but about making now a good start for tomorrow and beyond. From the various plenary and parallel sessions, we have takeaways, interdisciplinary insights, light bulb moments, and best practices to benchmark and adopt,” Dr. Españo stated in her closing message.
