The School of Technology (SOT) commenced its two-day seminar titled “Designing and Analyzing Gender-Sensitive and Inclusive Research: Focus for Equitable and Impactful Studies” on June 1 at the EVSU Graduate School Function Hall.
The first day of the seminar featured discussions on gender equality, inclusivity, and the integration of Gender and Development (GAD) perspectives in research. Resource speakers included EVSU Gender and Development Director Dr. Glenda B. Tupaz, who delivered a session on understanding gender equality and inclusivity, and Research Director Dr. Bernard Niño Membrebe, who discussed the application of the GAD lens in research.
Following the lecture sessions, participants engaged in a workshop titled “Redesigning Research Using a Gender-Inclusive Lens,” where they applied the concepts discussed by revisiting and enhancing research designs to better incorporate gender-responsive and inclusive approaches.
This seminar forms part of the university’s long standing initiative of promoting gender equality through strengthening participants’ understanding of gender-sensitive and inclusive research practices, promoting the conduct of equitable and impactful studies across disciplines.
