VPAA Day highlights Dr. Genotiva’s book collection donation; COT, COBE showcase milestones

The offices and units supervised by the Office of the Vice-President for Academic Affairs joined the EVSU community’s Charter Anniversary celebration through an official donation ceremony of the book collection of the late Dr. David Genotiva, professor of the Graduate School, and the showcase of the College of Technology (COT) and College of Business and Entrepreneurship (COBE) milestones.

The former Vice-President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Segunda A. Lacaba, was instrumental in the donation of the late Dr. Genotiva’s book collection to the University Library as facilitated by the University Librarian, Mrs. Erlinda Ayles.

Dr. Dinah Fiji, the former Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and the sister of Dr. Genotiva, conveyed her message of donation to the EVSU community as read by Dr. Lacaba.

Furthermore, the immediate family of Dr. Genotiva shared their inspirational messages.

Meanwhile, Mr. Francis Cinco, a family friend, facilitated the reading and signing of the deed of book donation.

The Key Officials of the University – the University President, Dr. Dennis C. de Paz , the Vice-President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Lydia M. Morante, Dr. Analyn C. Españo, the newly designated Vice-President for RDE, Dr. Danilo Pulma, the Vice-President for Internationalization and External Affairs, and Dr. Benedicto T. Militante, Jr., the Vice-President for Administration and Finance, and the University Librarian, Mrs. Erlinda Ayles graced the event.

The former EVSU Faculty Club President, Engr. Bienvenido Donila, faculty, and staff of the University also witnessed the momentous occasion.

Meanwhile, on a separate activity, the College of Business and Entrepreneurship showcased the Product Expo of the Fourth Year Students of the Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship at the New COBE Building.

The exhibit of business proposals, and flyers, among others, are included in the activity that exposed the students to the different aspects of entrepreneurship, from production to marketing.

It further aimed to expose the students of the said program to the world of entrepreneurship to get hands-on experience in the field.

The said product expo served as a launching activity for the incoming 20th Founding Anniversary of the college on August 27.

Dr. Rose Ann L. Refuerzo, the Dean of the College of Entrepreneurship, was looking forward to a more productive 20th Founding Anniversary on August 27.

“We plan to invite our accomplished graduates to the learning forum on the said occasion to inspire our students to dream high and achieve more,” added Dr. Refuerzo.

In a parallel event, the College of Technology, spearheaded by its dynamic Dean,Dr. Hilaria Bustamante also held exemplary activities in consonance with its 20th Founding Anniversary.

The Celebration Memorabilia filled the administration lobby with nostalgic feeling and reminiscence of the notable milestones of the college.

The former dean of the college, Dr. Ma. Cristina I. Cainctic and the immediate Vice-President for Research, Development, and Extension Services delivered her message of congratulations.

Furthermore, the Formal Declaration of the Opening of the 2022 Skills Olympics by the University President, Dr. Dennis C. de Paz, highlighted the activity.

Meanwhile, the EVSU Nutrition Assessment Booth provided an avenue for the EVSU community to look into their health condition as well as the Skills Olympics 2022 that made the event more engaging.

The popular COT Got Talent Season 8 that added color to the event sealed the occasion.
