Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) received three recognitions from the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Region VIII for its exemplary performance in budget utilization, physical accomplishment, and financial reporting.
The recognitions were given during the FY 2026 Mid-Year Performance Dialogue for State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), CHED, and TESDA, held at the DBM Regional Office VIII Conference Hall.
EVSU was recognized as a Physical Performance Achiever for attaining 100% of its physical performance indicators under the FY 2025 General Appropriations Act.
The University also received the Top Disbursements Budget Utilization Rate (BUR) Performer recognition, ranking third among all SUCs in Region VIII for its commendable budget utilization during FY 2025.
For the first and second quarters of FY 2026, EVSU likewise earned recognition for achieving 100% Reportorial Compliance, having completed and submitted all 24 required budget and financial accountability reports completely and on time.
These recognitions demonstrate EVSU’s commitment to efficient program implementation, sound financial management, timely compliance, and transparency and accountability in public service. They also reflect the collective efforts of the University’s offices and personnel in ensuring that public funds are properly utilized and institutional commitments are delivered as planned.
The DBM Performance Dialogue is a monitoring and assessment activity that provides an avenue to review the implementation of government programs, projects, and budgets, while promoting accountability, efficiency, and sound public financial management among government agencies and SUCs. It also highlights institutions that demonstrate strong performance in meeting physical targets, utilizing public funds effectively, and complying with financial reporting requirements.
This initiative address specific Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) specially SDG 08: Decent Work and Economic Growth; SDG 05: Gender Equality and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
