EVSU Execs craft VISION 2033

One Hundred Thirty-Six Administrators of Eastern Visayas State University System crafted the “Long-Term Institutional Development Plan: EVSU VISION 2033” on April 11 at Sabin Hotel Resort, Ormoc City, Leyte.

The Office of Institutional Planning and the Office of the Human Resource Management sponsored the said gathering of administrators dubbed as “Executive Development Class 2023” on April 11 to April 13, 2023.

Dr. Lydia M. Morante,the Vice-President for Academic Affairs, emphasized in her talk “Let us learn from our experiences and develop our general competencies. Let us begin with a clear vision and actualize it through grounded planning.” She further elaborated the rationale of the activity.

Furthermore, the University President Dr. Dennis C. de Paz set the tone of the gathering. “As they say, administrators come and go but while we are here to serve, may we always take our respective duties to mind and heart. May we continue serving this university with a greater sense of commitment and purpose-all for His glory and for our beloved Eastern Visayas State University.”

Ms. Geselle Frances P. Zeta, Supervising Economic Development Specialist of the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA), Regional Office VIII served as the resource speaker of the said institutional strategic planning.

She discussed the different methods on assessing the University’s status such as the modified SWOT Analysis (Internal and External Assessment); PESTEL Analysis, among others. She further put emphasis on the Anatomy of an Institutional Strategic Planning.

During the workshop, the administrators were grouped into the three agenda set by the University President for his term as president, to wit: One goal, one dream, and one university.

The groups reviewed the Vision, Mission, and Core Values of the University. The outputs will be further reviewed by the Office of Institutional Planning.

Dr. Benedicto T. Militante, Jr., the Vice-President for Administration and Finance, looks forward for the University’s attainment of the said plans. “We should prioritize and focus our goals, look into the resources available to achieve them. Let us continue to learn and attend with diligence our tasks,” he added.

“We should strive to attain 100% certificate of program compliance for all programs offered in the university. We should aim for QS ranking and aim for the Performance-Based Bonus,” Dr. Militante further emphasized.

The discussion of approved board resolutions, through the University Board Secretary, Dr. Gerald Jayson B. Balanga, capped off the Day 1 activity.
