Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) continues to champion sustainability through education by integrating the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into its curriculum, research, and community engagement. With its wide range of academic programs, EVSU ensures that sustainability is not confined to theory—it is practiced, lived, and embedded across disciplines.
Through its priority programs such as Environmental Science, Nutrition and Dietetics, Fisheries, Agriculture, Engineering, Education, Human Services, and Architecture, EVSU provides learners with the knowledge and skills to address pressing global and local challenges. These degree programs contribute directly to multiple SDGs, particularly SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and SDG 13 (Climate Action).

These learning opportunities extend sustainability awareness to educators, professionals, and local communities—fostering a culture of shared responsibility for sustainable development
Meanwhile, under SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), EVSU advances research and innovation by integrating sustainability-driven projects into engineering, technology, and applied sciences programs. Students are encouraged to create green solutions, design resilient infrastructure, and explore technologies that support sustainable economic growth in the region.
By weaving sustainability into every facet of education, EVSU reaffirms its commitment to shaping graduates who are not only competent in their professions but are also conscious stewards of the environment and society. Through Education for the SDGs, EVSU empowers future leaders to transform ideas into action and contribute meaningfully to a more inclusive and sustainable world.
