Description of the Program

The program is designed to help improve the professional and technical competencies of the graduate students in their respective fields of endeavor.  This course offering puts into perspective the nature of rural development as well as the current trends and issues affecting the implementation of development programs in the countryside.

Goals and Objectives

  1. To upgrade the professional and technical competencies of the students in the field of rural development
  2. To gain insights on the basic concepts, principles and approaches to rural development
  3. To discuss and critically analyze the government policies and strategies related to rural development
  4. To briefly review administrative and management issues, problems, and trends affecting the implementation of rural development programs
  5. To evolve rural development models which can be transformed into social technologies that can be transferred and adopted in the rural areas
