Description of the Program

A non-teaching program in Rural Development provides the students opportunities to blend theory and practice.  This is based on the premise that the best way to arrive at effective and efficient administration is to closely combine theoretical and practical considerations.  These approaches expose the students to the basics of rural development as well as the vivid realities of rural development administration.

Goals and Objectives

  1. To upgrade the professional and technical competencies of the students in the field of rural development;
  2. To gain insights about the basic concepts, principles and approaches to rural development;
  3. To discuss and critically analyze the government policies and strategies related to rural development;
  4. To briefly review administrative and management issues, problems, and trends affecting the implementation of rural development program, and;
  5. To evolve rural development models which can be transformed into social technologies which can be transferred and adopted in the rural areas
